For some time now, God has been saying to me (and I'm sure a few of you also) "I'm calling you higher." Since Sunday night, I have been meditating on Joni Parsley's message (go on rodparsley.com and click on 1/30/2011, 7pm, or go on the website and click Joni's Journal & read "Keep Pedaling").
God's calling us higher, are we going to meet and sup with him? I am on Facebook a lot because it is part of my ministry to reach people that I know & grew up with, people from across the country, my peers, and one day, nations. For now, I reach the nations on here, so I try not to put an abundance of senseless chatter on my page. Do I have my silly moments? You bet I do! It wouldn't be me to not be lighthearted and jovial. But I make sure I bring it back down to purpose: why I have a fb page in the first place, and what I told God I'd do with the time I have on here. In my ascent to a higher place, I don't want my laptop, things I do for God, and time on Facebook to replace bible reading, study, meditation and personal devotion & worship time. My devotional time & bible reading is when God shows up the most to communicate with me, direct, correct, and love on me. I don't want to miss out on a moment with him that will potentially create the intimacy in my worship."Influence comes from intimacy and access comes from relationship."--Lisa Brunson <3 I don't want a personal sugar daddy, I want a personal relationship with Abba. I want to not just operate in my gift & calling, but be anointed to praise, especially on a Sunday morning, doing my part to help create the atmosphere that PRP needs to come out and preach the way he does...every person counts in the body of Christ and if one joint is out of whack, it throws the rest of the body out of precision (I think there's a scripture that says something like this). I don't want to miss out on a rhema word from God that directly speaks to me & I can apply to a situation that I'm going through. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16. Getting in the word is my preparation! Preparation, consecration & sanctification is key for your moment with the King. Queen Esther prepared for a mere moment with King Xerxes with 6 months of cleansing and 6 months of perfuming, all to spend one moment with him. One night with the King brought her from obscurity to her purpose. What are you willing to do and give up to go higher in God to eventually be propelled to your purpose? What will you sacrifice? What relationships have to fall at the wayside....examine the little foxes spoil the vine, carefully take inventory in everything you do, what you watch, entertain...down to what are you eating? Are you always at.......Bob Evans...McDonalds...Chipotle...Starbucks...don't cringe, as I say all this, I'm speaking to me too and doing a mental checklist of the things that I have created as gods in my life that try to override "your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which you have of God and you are not your own." (1 Corinthians 6:19) and wonder why my waistline is expanding & my "i'm feeling fat days" jeans are now tight, praying to God for help in one breath, but inhaling McD's chicken sandwiches, cheeseburgers, fries & a large coke with ice in the next. Can I get a quick Amen?!! Come on church! How did I get to where I am now in this note? I was only talking about God calling us higher through seeking His face...but we can't be unhealthy in body and strong in spirit, or else how will we have the spiritual AND physical strength to endure? God is calling us higher, do you have the courage to lay everything down, and say yes?

There is more that God is requiring of you in this season of great triumph, victory, promotion and blessing. Seek the heart of the King, and not the splendor of His Kingdom.
